Tasty Toasting Muffins join the morning roundup

Expanding our ranges with the products that customers want is one of the reasons why we’re proud to be Britain’s number one branded bakery manufacturer so say a big early morning hello to new Warburtons 4 Pack Toasting Muffins.

Gently forked around the edges to tear apart easily, our delicious new Toasting Muffins are soft on the inside but crisp up when lightly toasted. They’re amongst the most versatile of breakfast products, being ideal simply buttered, spread with jam or honey or as the essential base for Eggs Benedict, the ultimate posh breakfast! As such they will appeal to a wide range of customers.

Muffins sits within the Traditional Breakfast category, which Warburtons dominates with 27.5% unit market share. Muffins currently have a 12.5% share of the Traditional Breakfast sector, growing 8.6% year-on-year so this new product represents a big opportunity for your store.

Merchandise with existing Warburtons breakfast and other Traditional Breakfast products, and try off-shelf displays to drive awareness and trial. You could also run limited temporary price reduction to drive additional basket spend.

Sometimes customers want something a little more premium than wrapped sliced bread which is why the bakery market continues to perform. However, normal Unsliced bread just baked in store tends to have a shorter shelf life than wrapped sliced bread, and research has shown that the limited shelf life prevents many customers from purchasing it.*

Warburtons latest innovation is Unsliced Wrapped Bread, available in 600g Tiger White and 600g Tiger Brown varieties. Loaves with all the flavour, aroma, softness and crustiness of just baked bread but with the shelf life of wrapped sliced bread. In addition, the premium, rustic paper packaging with the Warburtons ‘signature’ style logo will differentiate Unsliced from existing wrapped sliced loaves.

The For Now bakery market is valued at £843.4 million and is growing by 2.5% year-on-year. However, many convenience stores, particularly independents, aren’t able to offer just baked bread so the new range is an ideal opportunity to tap into this huge market. For stores such as multiples that do have bakery facilities, Unsliced adds interest and excitement to the wrapped aisle.

Warburtons Unsliced Wrapped Bread is an ideal trade up proposition so merchandise it with other unsliced SKUs or other mid sized loaves to build up the presence of your store’s 600g offering overall.
